Douglas Hill

Douglas Hill was born in London, grew up in New York and has lived in Los Angeles since 1968.  He is a fine art and commercial architectural photographer, whose work has been widely exhibited and is in the collections of the Getty, the Smithsonian, LACMA among others.  He teaches photography at UCLA Extension and is co-director of the non-profit Pasadena Photography Arts.

Hayley Barker

Hayley Barker is a painter working and living in Los Angeles. She has had solo exhibitions at Night Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Ingleby Gallery, Edinburgh; SHRINE, New York, NY; and CVG Foundation, Beijing. She has participated in group shows at Acquavella, New York, NY; Harper’s, East Hampton, NY; Nicodim, Los Angeles, CA; Night Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; and SHRINE, New York, NY among others. She received her BA from the University of Oregon and her MA & MFA from the University of Iowa.

Jenny Burman

Jenny Burman is a development professional who currently works as Senior Grant Writer for the UCLA School of Education and Information Studies. Prior to grant writing, Jenny worked as a writer and editor for newspapers, magazines, and websites, including The LA Daily News, the LA Weekly, Tu Ciudad, LA Observed, and Cincinnati Magazine. She holds a BA in French literature from Bennington College and an MFA in fiction from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop at the University of Iowa. Jenny has lived in Echo Park for over 24 years.

John Rosewall

John Rosewall is a visual and musical artist with deep roots in the Los Angeles area. As a fine artist, he has pursued both traditional and experimental photography as well as figurative painting. As a musician, he has performed and recorded with seminal Los Angeles independent bands The Last and Trotsky Icepick, and currently he is a co-leader of the alternative band Petrified Max.

Martin Cox, President

Martin Cox is a visual artist originally from the UK, who has been based in Los Angeles for decades. His work explores themes of time, memory, and transformation through photography, charcoal drawing, and painting on recycled materials. Cox’s photography, created with old film cameras, has been widely exhibited in galleries and museums in Los Angeles, London, and Iceland.
Early in his time in LA, he served as a board member of Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions. From 2018 to 2021, he founded and directed an artist residency in Iceland, fostering creative exchange in a remote landscape. In his longtime home of Echo Park, Los Angeles, he launched Latitude for Art, a project dedicated to supporting artists and strengthening community connections.

 

Thomas DeBoe, Treasurer/Secretary

Thomas DeBoe is a Los Angeles neighborhood lawyer with experience in corporation organization, subsidized housing and legal services to low-income and artist communities. He has over 25 years of experience practicing law in California.

Sati Kaur, Vice-President

U.S. Army veteran, Satinder Kaur is a writer and director. Her short film Blood and Glory, which centers on the friendship between two female veterans, premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and won the Grand Prize in Women in Media CAMERAderie initiative. Her work has premiered on PBS, other regional TV stations, and across film festivals globally.  She loves to tell stories about ordinary women doing extraordinary things. Kaur is a fellow of the Writers Guild Foundation’s Veterans Writing Project, and received her MFA in film from USC School of Cinematic Arts.
